On February 5, Nutifood, a Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company, officially sent a letter to the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City proposing to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River one month earlier than initially planned. The event is scheduled to take place on March 29.

The pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River is one of the key projects and is seen by Nutifood as a symbol of gratitude that the company wants to express to the city's residents. Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy General Director in charge of the project at Nutifood, shared that the proposal for an earlier start is due to the company's desire for the bridge to be completed soon, to serve the community, and to enhance the urban landscape.

Nutifood has actively collaborated with a consortium of contractors including Chodai - Takashi Niwa Architects and Chodai Kisojiban Vietnam to ensure all aspects of the project, from design to construction safety, are met, while also shortening the necessary preparation time. The entire project team's determination has led to the proposal to start construction one month earlier, a significant step forward in the implementation of such a large-scale project.

Nutifood hopes that with this early start, the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River will not only be a modern traffic structure but also become a new symbol of the city's development and integration in the future.

During the preparation for the early groundbreaking ceremony of the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy General Director in charge of the project at Nutifood, expressed his desire to continue receiving support and collaboration from city authorities. "With this new timeline, we hope the review and approval process will go smoothly so that the project can be implemented according to plan and soon be launched to serve the community," said Mr. Hoang.

Nutifood selected a consortium including Chodai & Kiso - Jiban Vietnam, Chodai Co., Ltd., Niwa Architecture Co., Ltd., and the My Thuan Project Management Board under the Ministry of Transport to carry out the project, with a total investment of 1 trillion VND. This group won first place in the pedestrian bridge architectural competition and was approved by the city's People's Committee in October 2023.

The bridge is designed with the image of a water coconut leaf, bringing a unique, impressive, and simple beauty that reflects the distinctive image of the South. It is expected that the bridge will not only attract the interest of local residents but also of tourists visiting the city.

With the groundbreaking event scheduled for March 29, Nutifood is rapidly completing the final steps and will officially announce the consortium of contractors at the ceremony. "We aim not only to construct a structure that is durable over time and aesthetically pleasing but also hope that this bridge will become a new symbol for the city in the future," a Nutifood representative emphasized.
