The cinema park is designed as an open film studio, recreating the setting of early 20th century Saigon, promoting urban heritage, and meeting film production needs. On March 12, the HCMC Department of Construction held a seminar on the planning direction along the Saigon and Dong Nai rivers. At the event, the joint venture between Thủ Đức Marine Corporation and Scene Plus Architecture Company presented the project for constructing the Thủ Thiêm Cinema Park and the riverside dock along the Saigon River.

The Thủ Thiêm Cinema Park is proposed to be built on the banks of the Saigon River, from the Thủ Thiêm tunnel to the Cạn Bridge (Thủ Thiêm ward, Thủ Đức City), covering a total area of about 5 hectares. The project will stretch approximately 800 meters in length and 75-100 meters in width from the riverbank.

This project will not only be the first cinema park in Vietnam but also provide an open space for the film industry, recreating the ambiance of old Saigon while serving film production and promoting urban heritage. Additionally, the project aims to develop cultural tourism and offer unique artistic experiences to both residents and tourists.

The park will include main areas such as: film studios and cinema experience zones, cinema exhibitions and museums, themed cinema and entertainment parks, themed commercial and service areas, cinema festivals and event stages, yacht docks, and movie theaters. The project is divided into three development phases, from building basic infrastructure to expanding entertainment services.

Upon completion, the Thủ Thiêm Cinema Park will not only be a new tourist highlight but also enhance the landscape and cultural value of central HCMC. The Saigon River, historically one of the bustling ports, will provide the perfect backdrop for this project, which is part of a larger effort to revive and develop the local economy.
